This was the first book I’ve ever finished in a single three-hour sitting. Every page had me 

hooked, trying to connect the pieces and figure out what was really going on. Normally, I don’t 

love when stories jump back and forth between timelines, but with Never Lie I didn’t mind at all!

 The way everything connected kept me completely drawn in. Every time I thought I had it all 

figured out, I was wrong. And honestly? That made it even better. Only because once you have 

read a good variety of books of similar content you began to run into predicatiablity. 

What I also loved about this book is how Freida McFadden doesn’t leave any detail unturned. 

Yes, she leaves room for imagination, but when it comes to explaining the characters’ downfalls 

and reasoning, she covers every stone. Nothing feels unfinished or left hanging. Don’t get me 

wrong; sometimes, an open ending works for a story, but I really admire how she can neatly tie 

everything together. It’s like watching her carefully display a complete work of art.

What really stood out to me was how psychological and suspenseful it was. This isn’t just a basic 

thriller, but it dives into the human mind, trust, and how quickly things can take a dark turn. I 

think readers of all ages could enjoy it, though it might take a bit of maturity to fully understand 

the mental states of some of the characters, especially the psyche patients.

Freida McFadden’s writing style is so easy to get lost in. It’s fast-paced, clever, and written in a 

way that keeps your brain working while still being super enjoyable to read. I can see why she’s 

become such a popular author lately. She has a way of making you question every character and 

second-guess every assumption.

If you’re into psychological thrillers that mess with your head (in the best way), Never Lie is 

definitely one to pick up. I’d recommend it to anyone who loves twists, eerie settings, and stories 

that keep you guessing right up until the end.
